Community Health Liaison - McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics (Center for Behavioral Emergency and Addiction Research) (Finance)

This position will support the Center for Behavioral Emergency and Addiction Research's ICON (Integrated Community Opioid Network) Program in Victoria, Texas. UTHealth Houston's Center for Behavioral Emergency and Addiction Research oversees several initiatives to address substance use disorders and behavioral emergencies across Texas. The Texas Integrated Community Opioid Network (ICON) is one such initiative.

ICON's overarching goal is to develop and implement coordinated, recovery-oriented systems of care. These systems support access to treatment and recovery resources, overdose prevention, education, and recovery support services for people and families experiencing substance use disorder (SUD). Texas ICON focuses on small urban areas and rural communities to help improve the lack of recovery infrastructure in these communities. In addition to providing direct services to the communities served, ICON also collects data on substance use and overdose trends, which is used to increase the collective understanding of substance use disorder in Texas.

This position will be based in Victoria, Texas and require occasional trips to Houston.
