Admissions Specialist - Referrals (Administrative)

Promptly answer phone calls from referents and patients seeking behavioral health servicesSchedule patients for behavioral health services for Minnesota clinicsGuide callers through scheduling processes and provide education about available servicesProcess internal and external referrals; place outbound calls to schedule requested servicesManage EHR inboxes; promptly address and respond to messages and inquiries assigned to Provider Referral and Government ReferralPromptly process emails, faxes, and voicemails sent to the Provider Referral and Government Referral inboxPromptly process all received Make A Referral web form requestsCommunicate scheduling outcomes with referentsBuild and maintain positive relationships with referents and team membersVerify and update patient demographic informationAddress referent and patient complaints and concerns and escalate to management when appropriateAttend or review notes/recording for mandatory meetings and trainingsAssist with training peers on team workflowsComplete other duties as assigned by leadership

Qualifications:
Display empathy and sensitivity in navigating complex situations with patients Proven understanding of scheduling protocols and the ability to schedule with precisionExcellent critical thinking skillsSelf-motivated with ability to multi-task, handle stress, deescalate, and problem solvePositive attitude and ability to be flexible in a team environmentStrong organizational and time management skills with attention to detailSuperb written and verbal communication skillsMust be proficient in use of computers and typing skillsMust be able to work full time with scheduled office hours of 40 hours per weekAn interest and/or experience in psychology, counseling, the behavioral sciences, social work, or healthcare is strongly preferred9 months experience in an administrative role at Nystrom & Associates strongly preferredHigh School Diploma required
