What will you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

Woodard & Curran is growing, and we are seeking an Operator/Lab Technician for a brand-new treatment facility in Wright City, Missouri! The Wastewater Operator/Lab Technician regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment facility, as well as performs analytical testing on wastewater in a lab environment as directed by the Project Manager. Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. Will be a backup Operator, participate in an on-call rotation and may have to cover another shift if another employee is out to ensure 24/7 coverage.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation.
  • Perform water quality and process control sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Utilize software programs for laboratory data management and maintenance work orders, while maintaining all necessary records.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.
  • Perform full range of in-house laboratory tests, following prescribed laboratory procedures, as directed by supervisor.
  • Prepare records, as required for each assignment.
  • Perform advanced operational tasks.
  • Monthly and annual environmental reporting.
  • Keeps up to date on environmental regulatory changes and educates the plant staff on these changes.
  • Engages employees to pay attention to and notify them of any environmental issues.

What will you need to succeed?

  • Missouri wastewater operator's license preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum one year of professional experience in the lab operations of water or wastewater treatment facilities a plus.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • High School graduate or equivalent, with technical/vocational school background.
  • Applicant must possess a valid Driver's License and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
