Position Title: Senior Process Engineer

Position Location: 4722 Pear St., Saint Joseph, MO 64503

Travel: 10% Travel required (domestic & international)

Days / Hours: Mon – Fri / 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Summary of Duties: Drive process stability and variation reduction. Identify Special and Common Cause Variation leading to top scrap, rework issues or adding risks to downstream operations. Deploy a team approach, engaging operators and other experts. Deploy proven tools to identify root causes and implement lasting corrective actions (Pareto, Ishakawa, 5-why, KT, DMAIC process, SPC analysis, distribution analysis, etc.). Ensure operator instructions clearly guide operators. Drive process stability by reduction of nonstandard conditions and supporting teams in their operator training, visual factory, 5S, Kaizen events, Value Stream Mapping, etc. Coordinate PFMEA based product quality risk reduction activities. Drive risk reduction and conformance to IATF and customer requirements. Work with launch, QE, ME and production team to ensure measurement systems are proven and understood. Confirm operator training ensures process stability, and to sign off on process capability for significant and critical characteristics. Responsible for process sign off of DV/PV/prototype production runs (DBDS signoff). Share best practice and lessons learned, utilizing CAP system, BP sharing system and SME council structure. Participate in process audits and actions to drive process conformance. Plant problem resolution where production is at risk. Mentor and support engineers and personnel needing process knowledge. Track project performance in KEY database.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering or related field of study and 5 years of progressive experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

Applicants must have demonstrated experience with:

1) Resolving issues applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Ishikawa Diagram;

2) Work order processing;

3) Contractor management;

4) Manufacturing process statistics;

5) Application of common cause and special cause variation controls;

6) Six Sigma;

7) Working in a matrix organization;
