This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

Job Description:

The Private Cloud Control Plane Engineering team is looking to add to its growing team! With the growth of our PCBE, PCE, and now Morpheus and VM Essentials products, we are looking to add inspired and creative Software Engineers to our team!

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop backend systems and services for cloud-based and hybrid environments
  • Architect and implement integrations with server BMC management platforms (e.g., Redfish), automated OS provisioning, and storage solutions including Fibre Channel (FC) and iSCSI
  • Program and automate L2/L3 networking tasks, including protocol handling, configuration, and network monitoring in distributed systems
  • Develop and maintain APIs and microservices for orchestrating infrastructure components and interacting with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure cloud-native applications
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and release management using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code tools
  • Optimize system performance, scalability, and reliability in distributed and cloud environments
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and promote best practices in software engineering
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across server, storage, networking, and cloud layers

Knowledge and Skills

  • Expertise in using Java, Groovy, or other JVM-based languages in backend and cloud development
  • Expertise in designing and developing distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • In-depth knowledge of BMC/Redfish protocols for server management and automation.
  • Experience with storage technologies: Fibre Channel (FC), iSCSI, and related storage orchestration
  • Proficiency in L2/L3 networking programming: Ethernet, VLANs, TCP/IP, routing, and switching
  • Cloud platform experience: AWS, Azure, GCP, OCI, including cloud-native development patterns and APIs
  • Experience with virtualization and/or containerization technologies on Linux or VMWare platforms

Experience & Education

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in Software Engineering
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience

If this is a sales role, then the listed salary range reflects combined base salary and target-level sales compensation pay. USD Annual Salary: $133,500.00 - $307,000.00
