Position: Warehouse Clerk

Reports to: Warehouse Supervisor

Shift: Monday-Thursday 7:00am to 5:30pm

Pay: $18/hr

What you'll be contributing:

Responsible for receiving materials into the storeroom, upload trucks, verify orders, put away materials, prepare shipping documents, inventory, perform computer transactions, monitor the day-to-day operation of the stockroom and assist co-workers as necessary.

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Monitor the day-to-day operation of the stockroom and assist co-workers as needed
  • Issue and/or return inventory from stockroom and perform appropriate transactions in SAP
  • Unload orders from trucks and verify contents of orders received; put away materials in stock location and perform appropriate transactions in SAP
  • Prepare shipping documents for items shipped out of the plant
  • Prepare and process Bills of Lading and custom paperwork
  • Monitor certain stock levels and notify Warehouse Supervisor when necessary
  • Use computer software, SAP, and others
  • Perform accurate inventory counts as needed from Warehouse Supervisor
  • Keep accurate records involving the inventory
  • Assist the Warehouse Supervisor when needed
  • Be knowledgeable of company policies and procedures and follow accordingly
  • Work in a safe manner at all times following all plant safety rules and procedures
  • Report any safety concerns immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor

  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • High school graduation or equivalent is required

  • Ability to read, write and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc. Willingness to learn, training will be provided
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety and have experience contributing to a positive, employee oriented culture.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required; ability to clearly convey information and ideas to individual or groups.
  • Demonstrate and foster a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals. Results oriented.
  • Ability to walk and stand frequently
  • Ability to answer and use phones
  • Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and twist to handle inventory
  • Ability to operate a forklift, hand truck, basic tools and pallet lift truck.
  • Must have valid driver's license to perform local deliveries and pick up items.
  • Shift work as required by position; ability to work overtime as needed.

What to expect in a cement environment :

Work to be performed in a shop environment as well as outdoor exposure throughout the plant. Mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise requires compliance with specified safety guidelines and procedures. Exposure to high elevations of up to 250 feet in height. Exposure to all weather conditions. Normal operation of mobile equipment may result in jarring and vibratory exposure. Frequently carrying and lifting up to 25 pounds and occasionally carrying and lifting up to 60 pounds.
