Claim Manager (Finance)



JOB DESCRIPTION

We are currently seeking a Property Claims Manager to join our Digital Adjusting Team (DAT) to supervisor a team of adjusters handling claims throughout North America. The position requires the candidate to be located in Phoenix, Arizona where the candidate will be required to work an in-office schedule adhering to our flexible work arrangement of 4/1 with manager approval.

The position will be responsible for the administrative management, staff development, and technical claim results for one team of property adjusters. The individual will collaborate with and report to the Pacific-based AVP, Claim Manager and be responsible for delivering excellent financial and service results as well as a high-quality product. The position will also be responsible for developing staff, succession planning, and executing strategies to achieve goals and objectives .

Key Responsibilities

  • The candidate must be both service-oriented and results-driven as well possess excellent administrative, leadership and organizational skills.
  • Estimating oversight for direct reports where a prior estimating background with experience in Xactimate, Cotality or similar systems is required.
  • Ability to oversee and drive actions to recognize exposure and provide direction and oversight to direct reports to investigate and adjust both personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to and sometimes exceeding $500,000
  • Candidate must be able to make timely and accurate decisions.
  • Experience in performance management, salary administration, training, staff development, and succession planning is a strong plus.
  • Proactively manage and ensure direct reports are completing virtual inspections and utilizing digital technology to evaluate damages, scope and complete estimates via Cotality estimating platform.
  • Extensive knowledge of personal insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and department of insurance regulations a plus. Demonstrated ability to learn and interpret Commercial property contracts a plus.
  • Effectively evaluate contract language and identify coverage issues.
  • Maintain active and current diary and provide meaningful and actionable direction to direct reports on direct report's assigned claims.
  • Provide oversight and direction related to files and performance of claim files assigned to direct reports where additional investigative actions are necessary and in managing vendors and experts.
  • Recognize and support/develop team in pursuit of recovery where warranted.
  • Recognize and support/develop team in identification of potentially fraudulent claims.
  • Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.
  • Must be an articulate communicator interested in developing and supporting others to achieve professional, corporate and personal objectives.
  • A strong knowledge of Chubb's systems, procedures, claims handling philosophy and claims handling requirements/protocols is necessary.
  • Candidate must be able to manage business relationships with internal and external customers, support team in investigation and claim resolutions (including dispute resolution) and address and resolve complaints in a fair and equitable manager.
  • Be available for on call rotation during weekends and weekdays during times of heavy volume, including supporting the Line of Business's Catastrophe response efforts.
