Director of Operations, Rowing (Project Management)



The Rowing Director of Operations aims to advance and support the vision of Oklahoma Rowing. They will serve as a point of contact for all internal and external stakeholders and university members working with Oklahoma Rowing. This position will work directly with the head rowing coach to manage and oversee day-to-day operations of The University of Oklahoma rowing program.
 
Essential Functions: 
  • Assists coaching staff with coordination, guidance, direction, and supervision of the assigned sports program
  • Provides office administration/management and professional administrative support
  • Assists with the developing and maintaining the team budget
  • Monitors the purchase of uniforms, equipment and supplies throughout the year
  • Oversees record maintenance
  • Exercises approval authority for payment of invoices, interdepartmental transfers, payroll, and other similar instruments, which obligate departmental funds
  • Conducts purchasing activities
  • Coordinates program's future match schedule
    • Ensures administrative approval of match contract as well as opponent's administrative approval
  • Assists with equipment maintenance and equipment travel logistics
  • Arranges team travel, hotels, and meals while on the road
  • Plans official visit travel, meals, and itinerary and serves as the compliance liaison
  • Develops and administers office/departmental policies and procedures
  • Serves as a liaison with offices on and off campus
  • Oversees security, maintenance, and space allocation with department's physical environment
  • Will research, collect, and analyze data or information and prepare reports or responses to inquiries
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position

Required Education: Bachelor's Degree AND;

  • 12 months of collegiate experience in assigned sport or closely related experience. 

Equivalency/Substitution: Will accept 48 months of experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree

Skills:

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong initiative to solve problems
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of coaches, administration and student-athletes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to engage in repetitive motion
  • Standard office environment
  • Frequent pressure caused by deadlines and busy periods

Departmental Preferences:

  • 2 years' experience in collegiate rowing
