Site Manager in Training (SMIT) (Manufacturing)



Position Overview
The Site Manager in Training (SMIT) role offers a unique opportunity for security professionals looking to grow into a leadership position. This role combines hands-on operational experience with direct mentorship from seasoned leaders, with the goal of transitioning into a Security Account Manager role.

Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Support
Assist the Security Account Manager with daily site operations.Participate in client meetings, walkthroughs, and site inspections.Contribute to the development and execution of customized security strategies.
Leadership Development
Engage in structured leadership training and mentorship programs.Gradually assume supervisory responsibilities including managing schedules and team oversight.Build core leadership skills such as conflict resolution, team building, and strategic planning.
Performance Management
Support the evaluation of security officers and assist in providing feedback and coaching.Learn best practices for handling performance issues and employee recognition.Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and training of new officers.
Client Relations
Serve as a secondary client point-of-contact, building strong professional relationships.Assist in client account management, including service delivery, issue resolution, and compliance.Gain exposure to contract negotiations, reporting, and proposal development.
Administrative Duties
Support with report writing, data tracking, and records management.Learn how to manage site budgets, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Professional Growth
Pursue opportunities for ongoing learning through company training, certifications, and seminars.Prepare for the Security Account Manager role by mastering all aspects of site and account management.

Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in security operations, preferably in a leadership or supervisory capacity.Skills & Competencies:
Strong verbal and written communicationInterpersonal and relationship-building abilitiesOrganizational skills and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft OfficeEagerness to learn and grow into a leadership role

Working Conditions
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel to site locations as required.
