Process Mechanical Design Lead (Finance)

Role description:

Our growing team in the California is seeking an experienced Water and Wastewater Process Mechanical Engineer to join our California Water Business. As part of this role, you will collaborate within a strong and supportive team environment to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

You will bring your expertise to a variety of project types ranging from large municipal water/wastewater treatment facility upgrades projects to local system upgrades and feasibility studies. This role sits within our global Resilience business area.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead process mechanical design and provide process mechanical engineering services during construction for water/wastewater treatment facilities , water reservoirs, and pumping/lift stations, including pump sizing, motor and VFD selection, pump station piping, appurtenance selection, and pump station layout.
  • Size and select control valves, isolation valves, and other critical equipment for water and wastewater systems.
  • Design water and wastewater-related equipment, such as mixers, diffusers, gates, blowers, and other mechanical components.
  • Develop construction documents and specifications.
  • Develop the basis of design including completion of detailed calculations.
  • Complete assessments, develop and cost design options and prepare technical memoranda to document rationale and recommendations.
  • Lead design coordination between engineering disciplines.
  • Develop process flow narratives and complete hydraulic analyses.
  • Assist in project management activities including budget and schedule tracking.
  • Participating in business development and proposal preparation.

Required Qualifications
  • 8 years of water/wastewater experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study.
  • PE License in California
  • Design experience with building mechanical and HVAC systems, and experience in designing small and remote water and wastewater systems

Key Skills and Attributes:

The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge of CAD and BIM and be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). They will have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, strong work ethic and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take direction.

We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $109,186 - $222,739. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
