The Instrumentation & Control Technician will maintain the I&C systems at a 2 unit combined cycle power plant to meet the specific energy generation requirements of the Luminant System in a safe, reliable, efficient, and environmentally sound mannerJob Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned. Directly or through others, the incumbent will:
Perform routine and emergency maintenance on the plant instrumentation and control systems with minimum supervision, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled shift.
Provide technical expertise for troubleshooting and resolution of plant instrumentation and control systems. Serve as contractor coordinator for contract labor while on-site.
Complete all required safe work permits, i.e., permit to work, job safety analysis, lock out tag out, hot work permit, confined space permit.
Assist in the design and implementation of O&M and Capital projects.
**LEVEL OF POSITION WILL BE DETERMINED BY APPLICABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
High school graduate or GED equivalent, trade school, related military service training programs, or technical training school programs.
Additional professional training preferred.
Minimum of five years maintenance experience in power generation facilities or similar industrial facilities and field.
Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communication skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools.
Must know Safety and Environmental rules as they relate to electrical maintenance
Must provide positive influence on the maintenance, operations, and management team.
Working knowledge of CMMS. Familiarity with Maximo is preferred
Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.
Experience working on voltages up to 4160V preferred.
