Health & Nutrition Monitoring Specialist (Healthcare)

Purpose:
To evaluate, assess and report compliance and/or non-compliance related to health and nutrition services at YWCA Centers and Child Care Partners to Health and Nutrition Monitoring Manager and Senior Health & Nutrition Services Administrator through a structured ongoing monitoring system developed in alignment with Head Start Program Performance Standards, Missouri licensing, CACFP guidelines, program policies and procedures and all other applicable local, state and federal regulations.
Job Duties:
Perform scheduled and periodic monitoring assignments related to Health and Nutrition Services in order to identify programs strengths and weaknesses to assess compliance utilizing a formalized monitoring module in the Child Plus Database system in alignment with a structured monitoring system. Perform observations, formal and informal, file reviews, interviewing staff, reviewing checklists and observing centers/classrooms to ensure policies and procedures related to health and nutrition services are being followed as per policy. Prepare and submit reports as required to Health and Nutrition Monitoring Manager and Senior Health and Nutrition Services Administrator.On-going desktop monitoring related to CACFP and nutrition service deliverables utilizing the Child Plus Database and related Child Plus reports to identify non compliances and areas of concern that impact the program and provide weekly reports to Senior Health & Nutrition Services Administrator as required.Serve as resident expert and provide training, technical assistance and support to internal and external customers at all YWCA Head Start Centers and Child Care Partners on the Head Start Program Performance Standards with the goal of instituting continuous quality improvement measures that may be functional and program wide in scope.Demonstrate a working knowledge of the programs Child Plus Database System and policies and procedures of the agency to facilitate accurate review of health and nutrition services and provide guidance where needed. Evaluate systems for the purpose of documenting activities and providing reliable information for program implementation, operation and compliance.
Formal Education/Experience:

Four-Year College Education

Servsafe Certification within 6 months of hire

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards, Missouri Licensing, CACFP guidelines, Nutrition and Health policies and procedures and all other applicable state and federal regulations.
