Manager, Human Resources (Finance)



Overall Responsibilities:

The Human Resource Manager will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including shop floor presence / engagement, hiring and interviewing staff, compensation, labor relations, benefits, leave of absence, and uniformly administering all policies, and programs for the business unit by performing the following duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Daily walks manufacturing floor, engaging Team members, and building relationships.
  • Attending and participating in daily GEMBA walks.
  • Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Social Media expert in recruitment, TM recognition and appreciation.
  • Conducts or acquires background checks and pre-employment screening.
  • Administers new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to corporate Human Resource staff.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assists with the development and administration of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  • Conducts new employee orientations to foster a positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Advises managers and supervisors about the steps in the progressive discipline system of the company. Counsel's managers on employment issues and ensures policies and procedures are uniformly enforced.
  • Keeps record of insurance coverage, 401K plan, and transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, attendance, performance reviews, and terminations, etc.
  • Communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws.
  • Recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-team member relationship and promote a high level of employee morale, motivation, and satisfaction.
  • Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation, and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Provides day-to-day benefits administration services. Develops and schedules benefits orientations and assists team members with any claim's issues.
  • Coordinates employee recognition and special events for the entire organization.
  • Executes and prepares bi-weekly payroll processing as needed.
  • Educates and trains managers, supervisors, and team members in all aspects of Dayforce HRIS, Payroll, Benefits and recording time and attendance.
  • Assists in studies and analyses of industrial accident causes and trends. Consults with all departments and recommends corrective or preventative measures when possible. Complies and submits accidents reports required by regulatory agencies.
  • Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication or records required by law or local governing bodies. Complies with all existing government labor laws to maintain minimal company exposure to lawsuits.
  • Manages all workers' compensation, accident, and casualty insurance claim activity. Assists with implementation of company EHS programs along with environmental tracking and SDS maintenance.

  • Ability to develop and implement improvement changes unaided.
Educational and other requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources or relevant discipline.
  • 5-7 years Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Bi-lingual in English and Spanish a plus.
  • SHRM-CP or Professional in Human Resources (PHR) a plus and required to obtain in future.
  • Generalist background with broad knowledge of employment, compensation, organizational planning, and employee relations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Specialized training in organizational planning and preventive labor relations.
  • A valid driver's license and the ability to travel are required.
  • Work requires a willingness to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekend and/or evening hours.
