Nuclear PET CT Computed Imaging Specialist I (Finance)



This person will be part of a team of PET technologists and other health care professionals performing state of the art cardiac imaging in a clinical/research environment. There is close contact and collaboration with physicians, nurses, research personnel, and administrative professionals all working together as a team. This position will allow you to be part of the "cutting edge" of cardiac PET imaging, it is where it started and shapes the future of Cardiac PET.

Position Summary:

The Nuclear PET CT Computed Imaging Specialist I performs all aspects of multiple PET imaging procedures on cardiac inpatients and outpatients including patient preparation, PET procedure, and processing of images; performs dosimetry measurements of all radiopharmaceuticals and operates Rubidium generator to inject imaging agents to patients.

Position Key Accountabilities:

Essential Functions

  • Learns and implements image processing techniques to enhance efficiency, timing, and accuracy of cardiac PET images.
  • Monitors patients in scanner for changes in status and informs other medical personnel as needed. Must be able to respond to emergency situations.
  • Learns and carries out daily quality control procedures on PET imaging machines
  • Learns to operate and carries out daily quality control procedures on non-scanner equipment including dosimeter, EKG machine, crash cart, and Lifepack defrillator.
  • Operates and maintains daily quality assurance procedures on Rubidium generator.
  • Positions patients accurately for optimum scan efficiency. Maintains accurate documentation and records of scans and activities.
  • Participates in quality control documentation to assure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Manages Human Resources activities of department in regards to: recruiting and selection, hiring and termination, training, professional development, mentoring, counseling, performance evaluations, and salary planning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Certification/Skills:

  • Ability to navigate emergency situations (reporting to appropriate personnel).
  • Clear and professional communication with patients, physicians, and team members.
  • Flexibility to work with evolving technologies and protocols in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Positron Emission Technology Certification (PET) by Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) preferred

Minimum Education:
Associate's Degree Nuclear Medicine Technology required
Minimum Experience:
None
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
