Application Engineer II (Finance)



Summary

Hexagon's Manufacturing Intelligence division is seeking an Applications Engineer II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting customers and internal teams by demonstrating, implementing, and training on Hexagon's CAM and CNC solutions-specifically focusing on SurfCAM software.

You'll serve as a key technical expert, working closely with sales, product, and engineering teams to ensure customers optimize their machining processes and achieve maximum value from Hexagon technologies.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver technical support and post-sales assistance to customers using SurfCAM software
  • Conduct software demonstrations, training sessions, and on-site implementations
  • Create and optimize CNC programs and machining processes for various industries
  • Collaborate with sales teams on customer visits, trade shows, and technical presentations
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and escalate to product teams as needed
  • Assist in the development of technical documentation, training materials, and application notes
  • Keep current with new product features, machining technologies, and industry trends

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of experience in CNC programming or CAM applications
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of G-code, CNC machine tools, and machining principles (milling, turning, etc.)
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50-60% for customer visits and trade shows

Preferred:
  • Proficiency in SurfCAM software
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing role (support, training, or sales engineering)
  • Familiarity with Hexagon products or other CAM/CAE software

Work Environment

  • Remote setting with occasional visits to customer sites and factory environments.
  • Moderate travel (up to 50%) required.
  • Frequent computer and equipment use; occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular communication with internal and external stakeholders.
