Manager, Accounts Payable (Administrative)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Manager, Accounts Payable

The Manager, Accounts Payable is responsible for oversight of activities and operations of the accounts payable department. This position directs and oversees the daily operations of the accounts payable staff and processes associated with the payment of invoices, ensuring the accuracy of the entire process as it relates to vendor payment, processing of purchase orders, receiving invoices and payment of invoices, and communication with buyers. This position ensures company policies and procedures are being adhered to as they pertain to accounts payable.

This is a full-time, remote position.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Manage the accounts payable ledger; ensure processes run correctly and identify/resolve system issues.

  • Document processes and cross-train staff on all processes held in AP.

  • Implement efficient processes that contain necessary internal controls, accuracy, and security surrounding invoice approval and payment processes.

  • Coordinate payment proposals and participate in weekly cash planning calls.

  • Manage the team by providing clear purpose and direction, aligning and prioritizing department goals and efforts with organizational goals.

  • Ensure timely payments and vendor invoice processing; develop metrics and monitor performance of AP team and function.

  • Work closely with bank platforms to ensure payments are processed and approved.

  • Ensure credit card and expense report platforms are functioning efficiently and in compliance with controls, leveraging Concur platform.

  • Coordinate Vendor Setup and Management, track Vendors for W-9 and 1099 filing; ensure bank payment records are maintained and updated in compliance with internal control requirements.

  • Coordinate period-end accruals and analysis of AP aging and other account reconciliations as required.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and control reports.

  • Support the annual financial audit and other audits, as needed.

  • Support and adhere to Mars policies, programs, and principles, including but not limited to Corporate Finance Manual, Internal Control Excellence, Sustainability/ESG initiatives.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • At least 6 years of progressively more responsible and relevant work experience, including prior supervisory experience.

  • BA/BS Accounting or equivalent experience/training.

  • Experience with ERP systems in an Accounts Payable role, preferably Oracle.

  • Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data in summarized and easy to follow format.

  • Excellent computer skills; experience using email, instant message, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, as well as the ability to learn how to navigate unfamiliar systems or programs quickly.

  • CPA or CMA license preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Reliable internet access is required.

  • Sitting/standing at a desk working on a computer for long periods of time.

Pay range (US based applicants): $95,133 - $120,000 (annualized)

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, certifications, relevant education and training, while also considering internal equity.
