Position Overview:

Great Lakes Advisors, LLC is seeking an experienced Associate Portfolio Manager for our Multi-Asset Strategy investment team.

This position will contribute to the successful implementation of investment decisions and programs for our Multi-Asset Strategy investment team. Our Multi-Asset Strategy portfolios utilize a combination of both internal and external investment management strategies across asset classes in an open architecture structure. The role will involve research, analysis, and trading of multi-asset portfolios.

What you'll do:

  • Create daily and periodic account and strategy-wide trade activities including rebalancing, new client implementations and cash flows.

  • Assist with analysis and investment due diligence on both existing and prospective investments, including the presentation of recommendations to the Multi-Asset Strategy team.

  • Execute model changes for multiple trading strategies on the firm's trading and portfolio management systems including Security APL, Advent APX, Moxy, and Genesis along with Morningstar Direct and proprietary SQL databases.

  • Review orders and trading activity with portfolio managers and assist with the evaluation of the impact of trades on client accounts and investment strategies.

  • Work with the Multi-Asset Strategy team members to analyze the investment performance and risks of multiple asset classes as they conduct proprietary research on asset allocation strategies and portfolio construction techniques.

  • Analyze and support execution of risk management and asset allocation strategies for multi-asset portfolios.

  • Assist client portfolio managers with the monitoring of portfolios to ensure compliance with firm policy and client provided investment restrictions.

  • Champion and enhance organizational initiatives that ensure data integrity and other process improvements for increased efficiencies to portfolio management and trading processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • 2-7 years of experience in portfolio management, financial advisory, trading, and/or investment consulting roles.

  • Experience with the following systems: Microsoft Excel, Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, Macrobond, and Advent.  Experience with SQL, Microsoft Access or other databases is a plus.

  • Experience working with trading applications including Advent Moxy, Advent Genesis, Security APL, and Eze OMS.

  • Ability to work within deadlines and prioritize projects.

  • A self-motivated worker that is an excellent team player.

Compensation:

The estimated salary range for this role is $85,000 - $110,000 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate's qualifications, skills, and experience.
