General Accountant
Gateway Dealer Network is one of the largest Bobcat and compact construction equipment dealerships in the United States, providing premiere customer service from its 27 locations across 10 states in the Midwest, Southeast and Western U.S. with its headquarters in St. Louis, MO. Due to continued growth, GDN has an opportunity for the right person to join the team as a General Accountant.
This position will report directly to the Controller and will be a key contributor for the Corporate Accounting Team. Primary responsibility will be to prepare and maintain assigned financial reporting, assist in month end closing and other general accounting duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
Track and reconcile fixed assets.
Manage credit card tracking and accruals.
Assist with cash reconciliation and floor plan payments.
Reconcile accrued parts.
Support with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
Perform other duties as determined by the Controller.

Characteristics and Qualifications
Be a team player by helping and supporting other members of the Corporate Accounting Team and employees of the company.
Self-starting team player who can excel in a dynamic, challenging, and friendly work environment.
Good communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; preferably 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role, CPA a plus.
Supervisory Responsibility
The General Accountant has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
