Bachelor of Science; Mechanical Engineering and 2-5 years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, with strong emphasis on equipment/process flow design and engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong exposure to industrial electricity and electrical control circuit design, exposure to Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for equipment Preventive Maintenance development and reliability improvement development, exposure to manufacturing facility infrastructure systems, such as: process water supply, waste water treatment, air quality improvement/exhaust, cooling towers and heat exchangers, storm-water and drainage systems, natural gas supply, electrical distribution, heating/cooling, and ventilation systems.

Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD 2004 or newer.

Previous experience in hydraulic system design, control, and instrumentation preferred

Demonstrated experience in industrial project management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Ability to operate a forklift and man lift to approved O.S.H.A. standards.

PAY RANGE

$85K - $90K Depending on experience SUMMARY

Under general direction, is responsible for providing engineered solutions in support of the Maintenance and Facilities Manager in order to enhance equipment reliability and to develop facilities improvements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

  • Conduct and complete Failure Mode and Effects Analysis on all major production equipment, to include: Sizers, rollers, presses, hammers, furnaces, and other major production equipment.
  • Assist in development of Preventative Maintenance actions (PMs) using FMEA data and engineering principles, refine as required.
  • Conduct periodic analysis of completed maintenance actions to ensure value driven approach to PM design and periodicity; refine, realign as required.
  • Conduct periodic analysis of maintenance repair activity to ensure elimination of root cause elements in pursuit of repair strategies.
  • Develop engineered solutions as required in order to reduce down time during unscheduled repairs; including process sequencing, special tooling, streamlined repair pathways, and required vendor support.
  • Assist in development of Facilities Maintenance Plan providing support in determining life expectancy of facilities systems, including roofing, asphalt and concrete systems, plumbing, electrical and other infrastructure systems.
  • Interface with production operations and develop and refine engineering projects designed to enhance productivity, improve production efficiencies, and reduce process work content.
  • Develop scheme to interface with Quality/Inspection to ensure production equipment meets established quality standards.
  • Develop/refine modernization plan to ensure that production and Quality are aware of progressive techniques and leading edge technologies in order to avoid equipment obsolescence and long term erosion of part quality.
  • Manage day-to-day details on large projects, such as new equipment installations and large equipment repairs. Develop objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements.
  • Develop cost savings initiatives and compose business case analysis for management support.
  • Design tools and support equipment to streamline production and maintenance techniques.
  • Assist with on site repairs as required.
  • Complete special work as assigned.
