Job Description:

Job Summary

The Product Operations Manager plays a vital role overseeing the technology operations team, and is responsible for designing, controlling, and managing the technical processes and operational integrity for programs that support the Product Management, UX Design, Software Engineering, and Quality Engineering. This is a critical leadership role that manages functions that include Technical Program Management, Support Operations, Beta Program & Strategic Planning. Chief of Staff to the VP of Product.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Technical Background: Experience working in support of technology-focused teams, and transparently bridging product roadmap & delivery with business stakeholders. Identify problems and drive solutions.
  • Transformation Change Agent: Drive process improvement and innovations for a technology organization of ~180 people. Flexible application of agile principles meets specific business needs without rigidity or idealism.
  • Operations Management: Facilitate day-to-day reporting of
    • Budget Management: Evaluate technology-specific budgets vs. actuals and identify cost strategies and options to drive run rate accountability.
      • Supply/Demand Management: Work closely with Product Leadership to gauge business demands and highlight supply (resource) imbalances.
    • Risk Management: Operational assessments of and risk analysis to identify, document, and mitigate impediments.
    • Dependency Management: Clear operational assessment of downstream and upstream dependencies, and planning to resolve.
    • Go-to-Market (GTM) Management: Development of key GTM activities in partnership with technology and the business units to weave together training, marketing materials, research, and internal validation via User Acceptance Testing. Establishment of a Beta Program for key programs.
  • Technology Lifecycle Processes: Collaborate, implement, and measure key accountability mechanisms in the product/development lifecycle such as Definition of Ready/Definition of Done, Test Acceptance rate and other critical health measures.
  • Support Desk Operations: Define and implement a comprehensive technical support desk and production defects monitoring program, including Service Level Agreements, technical tiers, goals, and enforcement.
  • Leadership: Direct management of a team of Program Managers, Beta Coordinator, Support Desk/Department, and Strategy. Indirect management of the entire Product & Technology organization; Chief-of-Staff for the VP of Product.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field / experience.

Experience:

Minimum of 8 years of experience in technology operations, technical program management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.

  • Required: None.

The Compensation range for this role is 130,000.00 to 170,000.00 USD annually and may be eligible for an annual bonus. 

Your specific salary will be determined based on several factors:

  • Location-based market rate for the role

  • Your abilities in relation to the job specification

  • Performance during screening and interview

  • Pay parity with the wider team in the considered location
