Systems Administrator (Administrative)

The Systems Administrator will design, modify, install, and support hardware and software that delivers high quality technology solutions to Fort Wayne Metals in a way that is secure, robust, and scales to support future growth; serve as a technical mentor to aide in the development of the Systems Team. They will provide customer service to all FWM information systems users.
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field required or equivalent demonstrated skills and abilities required.
EXPERIENCE:
· Six years' relevant experience, preferred.
Job Responsibilities
· Install, configure, update, and maintain: server hardware and software; network hardware and software.
· Perform server and network monitoring for performance bottlenecks, security breaches, efficiency of servers, down time warnings, and other errors. Troubleshoot problems as they are identified.
· Verify and test backup operations per FWM, IT established standards.
· Maintain and implement security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
· Evaluate and recommend infrastructure purchases to support system efficiency and growth of FWM. With support from Systems Supervisor, facilitate purchases and coordinate installation of purchases.
· Serve as a technical mentor for the Systems team.
· Provide technical support to the organization for network and computer systems.
· Troubleshoot hardware and software failures and replace or repair as needed.
· Contribute to and maintain system and network standards.
· Provide support for various software and applications.
· Develop and conduct various training and instruction for system users on operating systems and other applications; assists users in maximizing use of network and computing systems.
· Coordinate Help Desk requests to support day-to-day operations pertaining to any IT issue within the facility.
· Install patches and updates per department process and schedule.
· Research and report on new technology and IT security threats.
· Perform other duties as requested by management.

· Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to effectively communicate within all levels of the organization.
· Must be able to analyze and troubleshoot problems.
· Able to prioritize projects to meet business needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Fast-paced office environment.
· Travel may be necessary at times.
· Travel between facilities required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Sitting and working at a computer for extended periods of time.
· Must be able to access all areas of operation.
· Moderate bending, stooping and regular lifting of equipment up to 50 lbs.
