Senior Accountant (Project Management)

Our Senior Accountant role will play an integral role in maintaining the month-end/quarter-end accounting to ensure accurate and timely financials. This role will partner closely with corporate functions including IT, customer service, branch/region leadership, and finance teams. This is a unique opportunity for an accountant interested in upgrading processes, creating best practices, driving efficiencies in the close process, integrating new businesses, and building lasting relationships with fellow employees from a Company rated the best employer, seven years in a row.

Position involves prioritizing multiple responsibilities, working independently, and effectively communicating with all levels of staff and management within the organization. Must be a self-starter to take ownership of their work, and drive efficiencies in a fast-paced environment. This position will report to the Manager, Operations Accounting.

Responsibilities

You Will...

  • Oversee application of high-volume EFT payments and prepare monthly reconciliation
  • Process customer check refunds and prepare monthly reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly credit card account reconciliation
  • Support the month and quarter end closing of the general ledger through timely and effective preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and managing close deliverables
  • Maintain prepaid expense schedule
  • Provide accounting support to brands
  • Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements, including standardization, enhancements and potential automation of existing processes and systems, and other accounting applications
  • Work closely and directly with external and internal auditors in the execution of quarterly and annual audits
  • Build and maintain cross-functional and collaborative relationships with various departments
  • Work on special projects and tasks as assigned

Qualifications

The Experience You Will Bring (Minimum Requirements):

  • Accounting degree required
  • CPA or CPA in process (preferred)
  • 5+ years of finance and accounting experience with a public or large private company
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
  • Experience with software and systems implementations is a plus
  • Proficient in US GAAP in judgmental areas
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate professionally and concisely
  • Strong customer service skills with a sense of urgency and commitment to problem solving

  • We require the ability to pass a drug screen and background checks.  Candidates must have the ability to perform the requirements of the job with or without accommodations.
  • Must be local to the Atlanta metro area or willing to self-relocate to the area.
