UC Health is hiring a per-diem General X-Ray Machine Operator for the breast imaging department at The University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

The GXMO (General X-Ray Machine Operator), under the direction of the Radiologists, manager, and director is responsible for performing a variety of tasks in maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe environment and to ensure the efficient patient flow through the exam room.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 0 - 6 months of experience required
  • Valid GXMO license from ODH, specific to the modules of studies being performed.
  • Current BLS certification for Healthcare workers

  • Performs diagnostic imaging procedures including X-ray and DEXA within scope of certification, following all applicable protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Effectively operates radiology equipment, ensures proper patient positioning, and explains procedures to promote comfort and understanding.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, reviews patient histories, prepares prior studies, and adheres to HIPAA and infection control policies.
  • Demonstrates clinical competency through ongoing education, performance evaluations, and compliance with licensure and accreditation standards.
  • Responds efficiently to emergencies and scheduling adjustments, while identifying and resolving issues to support departmental workflow.
  • Engages in continuous improvement initiatives, attends staff meetings, and contributes to a culture of safety, precision, and professional growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
