Summary:

The Vice President of Performance drives performance improvement for Americas Cementitious Materials (ACM) by leading the implementation of strategies that will drive margin improvement through operational efficiencies. This position uses company strategies to tie key performance indicators (KPIs) to actions for maximizing companywide results. The position liaises with Region Leadership, Manufacturing & Technical Services (MTS), and Group Technical Services (GTS) to ensure the execution of company goals and objectives that improve the overall EBITDA of ACM.

What you'll be contributing:

  • Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
  • Supports the Regional strategy in alignment with overall goals and objectives of ACM by identifying key areas for improvement, setting performance targets, and defining initiatives to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness
  • Works to reduce costs and increase production in our operations.
  • Attends regional and functional Strategic Planning meetings and assist in the preparation of strategic plans that will increase production and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborates with senior management to define short and long-term business goals.Develop effective campaigns and initiatives that improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develops KPIs using industry benchmarking & CRH's best in class operational benchmarking that will drive operational optimization and tie to operational budgets
  • Analyze performance data to identify trends, deviations, areas of improvement, and use insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Uses KPI targets and operating budgets to implement stretch targets for the future year's focus.
  • Organizes and leads quarterly performance meetings.
  • Works closely with GTS and MTS in reviewing and reporting monthly platform performance against strategic operational objectives.
  • Designs and reviews policies related to operational objectives.
  • Identifies opportunities to optimize processes and workflows to increase efficiency, reduce costs, enhance quality.
  • Drives performance improvement for ACM by leading development and implementation of strategies that will improve efficiency operationally.
  • Reviews operational staffing with a focus on optimizing plant operations for the future.
  • Drives change to implement our business transformation to a cementitious company and future growth.
  • Works closely with Senior leadership to align key focus areas for both short and long term.
  • Integrates new business acquisitions ensuring nimble and efficient integration.
  • Prioritizes health, safety, and environmental sustainability in all operational activities.
  • Enforces safety protocols, implement measures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental standards.
  • Provides leadership in promoting Health and Safety awareness by conducting Safety Leader Interactions' (SLI's) when visiting cement sites.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.
  • Encourages employee involvement in identifying process improvements, implementing efficiency initiatives, and driving innovation to enhance company performance and competitiveness.
  • Develops and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Provides leadership and direction to working groups.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement process improvements across the business.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • Minimum 4 Year - Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical engineering, business, marketing, sales, or related field.
  • Master of Business Administration or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as senior level operational and/or commercial experience in a cement industry or related field
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
