  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing or Finance or Years of experience to be equivalent to the degree.
  • Three to seven years of purchasing and planning experience in a lean manufacturing environment required
  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings of components parts
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrated success in year over year material cost reduction projects preferred
  • Must be familiar with engineering change processes, bill of materials, company parts and products
  • Solid written and oral communication skills essential for the role
  • Demonstrated ability to perform multiple functions in a fast paced environment
  • Must be organized and detail oriented to manage multiple projects

TK Elevator is looking for an experienced Buyer II to join our world class team in Middleton, TN.

This role performs inventory planning, purchasing, management and reconciliation to maintain continuity-of-supply. Lead root cause analysis efforts that identify trends/ problems and provide solutions.
Identify, recommend and assist in the implementation of cost reductions and process improvements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs inventory planning, purchasing, management and reconciliation to maintain continuity of supplies
  • Ensures continuity of supply by the use of practical problem solving and other lean tools
  • Order materials, parts and products
  • Initiates communication with vendors to ensure on time delivery
  • Assist with pricing, invoicing, tracking and processing of orders
  • Identify and solve problems by conducting root cause analysis
  • Identify, recommend and assist in the implementation of cost reduction opportunities and process improvements
  • Analyze trends to generate meaningful forecasts
  • Research cost reduction opportunities for premium freight
  • Address negative inventory reconciliation
  • Perform excess and obsolescence reconciliation
  • Participate in physical inventory annually
  • Lead cross-functional efforts
  • Adhere to the Office 6S principles
  • Mentor new buyers
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
