Human Resources Generalist (Human Resources)



The HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the overall HR function by combining the responsibilities of recruiting, onboarding, and ensuring compliance across HR activities. In this role, the Generalist takes the lead in recruiting and onboarding efforts, ensuring that new hires are effectively integrated into the organization. The HR Generalist also contributes to the HR team by providing timely and accurate reports, mastering the HRIS system(s), and monitoring compliance and survey readiness. Throughout all activities, they maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality, consistently supporting the HR department in its mission to foster a positive and efficient workplace.

HR Generalist Responsibilities:
Monitors, tracks, and documents on-hire and on-going hospital and regulatory compliance requirements with training, licensure, certifications, annual education, and background checks. Responsible for security badges to ensure access is restricted appropriately for hospital safety. Manages recruitment and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions including sourcing candidates from job boards, professional networks career fairs, community events, and other recruitment activities to attract diverse and qualified candidates and promote the hospital as an employer of choice. Monitors position control to ensure alignment with budgetary constraints and organizational staffing needs, maintaining accuracy and efficiency in workforce management practices. Collaborates with department directors and managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies. Leads orientation for new hires and supports retention efforts to ensure long-term employee satisfaction and engagement. Executes and prioritizes routine tasks required to administer human resources programs including but not limited to unemployment claims, verification of employment requests, compensation and workers compensation claims are completed timely, accurately, and confidentially. Engages with employee workgroups and may be asked to lead workgroups as designated. Build and maintain professional relationships with internal leadership and external partners, such as staffing agencies, educational institutions, professional associations, and vendors to support department efforts and initiatives. Masters HRIS and data tracking for annual and ad hoc survey, audit, reporting, and data requests. Maintains confidentiality, security, and organization of employee records and files to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations. Works with director to maintain and update recruitment and pre-employment processes, pay scales, job descriptions, orientation processes, and assigned workflows to ensure they are streamlined, complete, and compliant with all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Demonstrates a high level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information handled. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

HR Generalist Qualifications:
Associate degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience strongly preferred. Previous experience in human resources, compliance, or office management is strongly preferred. Previous experience in full-cycle recruitment and onboarding preferred. Previous HR experience required.
