Senior Director, Finance (Finance)



Department: Finance Salary: 6732.25 monthly
Description:

Directs and manages the Finance Department, which includes general accounting, financial reporting, accounting services, asset management, purchasing, contract administration, travel, insurance, and mail services; develops and implements financial policies and procedures; and prepares the university's financial reports.
1. Directs operations for general accounting, financial reporting, accounting services, asset management, purchasing, contract administration, travel, insurance, and mail services, which includes supervision of financial managers and professional staff.
2. Works with TAMU-System and Manager, Financial Reporting to prepare the university's annual financial report and other required financial reports.
3. Prepares mid-term financial reports and other ad-hoc financial reports, as requested by the Vice President, Administration & Finance.
4. Administers planning, budget, and assessment for Finance department and various institutional cost centers.
5. Develops university policies and procedures to ensure financial compliance and oversees financial training and support.
6. Serves as the university's plant accounting officer, which includes taxable and tax-exempt bond compliance, tracking bond issuances sources and uses, and assisting with capital projects with bond related projects.
7. Coordinates with university departments to respond to internal and external audit requests.
8. Oversees records retention, shred, and shared services contracts for the university.
9. Serves as liaison with the State and TAMU-System regarding areas supervised.
10. Oversees management and reconciliation of fuel cards, and submission of fuel consumption and maintenance to fleet vehicles in the State's database monthly.
11. Reviews and approves all university transactions of $50,000 and over
12. Oversees the university's daily cash position across multiple bank accounts to ensure sufficient liquidity and bank reconciliations with TAMU System.
13. Manages special projects as assigned by the Vice President, Administration & Finance.
14. Performs other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, master's preferred, and (7) years related experience; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
