QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER (Project Management)



KENT® Precision Foods Group (KPFG), a member of KENT Worldwide™ is seeking a Quality Control Manager to oversee daily food safety and quality operations at the Bolingbrook, IL Facility, including supervision of QC staff, on-site auditors, and service vendors.

  • This is a salaried position with a complete benefit package.
  • The compensation range for this role is $89,000- $94,000, in addition to KENT standard benefits (health, dental, vision, 401k). Final compensation is subject to variation based on the candidate's skills, job responsibilities, location and other pertinent factors. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates QC activities across departments and with Operations for training on QC, Process, and Food Safety.
  • Oversees batch record review and release to ensure compliance with SOPs and specifications.
  • Leads internal QC investigations.
  • Prepares monthly reports on non-conformances and food safety performance.
  • Serves as site lead for facility audits, inspections, and recall test actions.
  • Evaluates and supports Food Safety systems, including Maintenance and Sanitation.
  • Investigates customer complaints and reports findings to the Sr. QA Manager.
  • Manages Food Safety documentation per Sr. QA Manager direction.
  • Provides input on QC department budgeting and cost control.
  • Contributes to site-wide continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develops and reviews testing protocols to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains audit protocols for production line checks.
  • Conducts GMP audits with QA Management to ensure regulatory compliance.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication
  • Positive, professional attitude with a desire for continuous improvement of programs
  • Strong computer communication skills both internally and externally
  • Ability to interpret and present data effectively
  • Ability to manage and motivate people as a manager
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • 4 Year Degree in Science area or 7 + years of relevant work experience. Higher level degree preferred
  • 2 years of experience in a QC role with demonstrated laboratory skills
  • 2 years of experience in the Food or Food Packaging industries, or experience with a firm that supports blending and packaging operations
