People Operations Associate (Finance)



Job Description & Responsibilities

We're looking for a People Operations Associate (Payroll & Benefits) to join our Human Resources team and play a key role in ensuring an exceptional employee experience for team members across our various locations. This role will provide essential HR support including benefits administration, payroll support, and employee engagement initiatives. This position is full-time, based out of our New York City headquarters, and reports to the Senior Manager of People Operations.

Position Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first point-of-contact for HR questions; providing guidance on policies and procedures
  • Provide benefits support, including processing enrollments, resolving issues with carriers/brokers, reconciling invoices, and supporting the annual open enrollment process
  • Assist with payroll processing including ensuring timesheet accuracy, processing pay-related adjustments in the HRIS, and reviewing payroll reports for accuracy
  • Support leave programs by gathering employee information, preparing FMLA/disability/other leave documentation, and maintaining leave tracking records
  • Prepare documentation including promotion/transfer letters, employment verifications, I-9s, responses to government inquiries, and Workers' Compensation reporting
  • Assist with compensation projects including generating and maintaining up-to-date reports
  • Provide HRIS support, including generating and analyzing reports
  • Provide onboarding support for new hires at our New York City headquarters
  • Contribute to HR initiatives aimed at process improvement and enhancing employee experience
  • Provide other HR administrative support as needed

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a Human Resources role (must include benefits administration)
  • Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
  • Knowledge of FMLA and employee leave programs
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, including handling large data sets and utilizing pivot tables
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with a passion for process improvement
  • Ability to work in-person at our New York City headquarters at least 3 days per week

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years in a Human Resources role involving benefits administration
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification

The pay for this role can vary from $80,000 to $90,000 a year based on the selected individual's education and experience.
