Fleet Diesel Mechanic (Finance)



OVERVIEW

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday

Work Hours: 5:00am start time, negotiable

PURPOSE

Repairs and performs preventative maintenance on trailers, tractors and yard tractors at the DC. Responsible for diagnosing and repairing medium to heavy-duty refrigerated trucks and trailers under minimal supervision.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Air and hydraulic brake repairs
  • Tire repairs
  • Warranty procedures
  • Driveline, steering, and suspension maintenance
  • Electrical trouble-shooting
  • Ability to diagnose and repair lift gates, AC, weld and fabricate as needed, and other duties as assigned
  • Assist other mechanics in repairs and will be expected to comply with safety and EPA procedures
  • Willing to continue to learn additional mechanical duties such as advanced diagnostics, internal engine and transmission repairs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Certifications

  • Preventative Maintenance
  • Annual DOT
  • Air Brakes
  • AC

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • 21 years of age or older required
  • Valid Driver's license required
  • 2 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair
  • Experience with refrigeration units required

Job Skills
  • Must be able to read codes and instructions on the computer
  • Must be able to document repairs on the computer
  • Must possess at minimum a set of hand tools up to (3/4")
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, holidays and on-call rotations for roadside assistance
