Visiting Assistant Professor, Counseling (Finance)
The Department of Transformative Leadership, Counseling, and Innovation at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL) invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor in the Counseling program. The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development and growth of the counseling program, teach Counseling courses and, provide service to the program, university and profession. This one-year position will begin Spring 2026 and can be renewed depending on need. The Visiting Assistant Professor may apply for a tenure-track position if one is advertised and the required qualifications are met.

Duties:
Teaching graduate counseling courses
Contribute to curriculum development and accreditation data collection/documentation
Supervising interns
Work cooperatively with area public schools and community agencies as appropriate
Maintain an active Counselor Educator identity
Participate in college activities and serve on program or college committees
Supervising interns or counselors in school systems and/or agencies
Required Qualifications:
An earned doctorate in Counselor Education from a CACREP accredited university
Successful university teaching experience
Record of scholarly work
Excellent communication skills
Demonstrated service
Texas LPC and/or School Counselor licensure/certification or eligibility
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a school counselor (CSC) or counselor (LPC)
Experience teaching clinical mental health and/or school counseling students
Experience using an LMS and teaching in hybrid formats
Experience with CACREP accreditation process
Experience in supervising interns or counselors in school systems and/or agencies
