Adjunct Instructor of Physical Education (Swimming) (Education)



Position:                     ADJUNCT PROFESSOR PHYSICAL EDUCATION (SWIMMING)

Department:              Academic Affairs Faculty

Reports To:                Division Chair

FLSA:                        Exempt

Position Overview: Lane College is seeking seasonal adjunct instructor to teach Physical Education courses. This is a part-time contract with the possibility for renewal. Main responsibility is to teach swimming courses according to departmental need.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach 3–9 hours education-base courses
  • Participating in department activities.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage and control the classroom.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for a diverse student body.
  • Proficient with Blackboard, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Minimum of 18 graduate-level credit hours in an area that aligns with the program requirements.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED and Water Safety Instructor certifications required
  • Previous college teaching experience is highly encouraged.
  • Evidence of teaching potential is essential.
  • The ability to lift a minimum of 50lb.
  • Position may require sitting for extended time, some walking and the ability to climb stair 1% of the time.
