Digital Content Producer, WCPO (Healthcare)



Are you passionate about delivering engaging digital news content that connects with audiences? WCPO, The E.W. Scripps Company ABC affiliate in Cincinnati, OH, is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Digital Content Producer to join our team. In this role, you'll transform breaking news and enterprise stories into compelling digital content across our website and social media platforms, helping Cincinnati residents stay informed about the issues that matter most to them.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Turn breaking news, enterprise stories, press releases and news tips into unique articles with engaging headlines, thumbnails, and interactive elements.

  • Post articles to social media to drive engagement and web clicks.

  • Cut video and assign metadata for YouTube, website, app, OTT and third-party services.

  • Build and monitor livestreams to various platforms.

  • Create platform-specific social media graphics to showcase storytelling.

  • Assist in online coverage of major news events, breaking news and severe weather.

  • Collaborate with editorial and technical staff to migrate content across media platforms.

  • Build special sections and site features to enhance coverage and increase user engagement.

  • Update and interact with fans/followers on social media.

  • Track live web metrics and optimize user experience.

  • Apply Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices to every piece of content.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience

  • Generally 3+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Proven writing skills with strong grammar and attention to detail

  • Experience with content management systems, video editing, image editing and social networking

  • Strong focus on web-based content

  • Excellent relationship building skills essential to newsroom collaboration

  • Creativity and ability to handle deadlines and multi-tasking

  • Working knowledge of social media platform management

  • Photo editing skills with ability to manipulate, crop, and enhance images

  • Demonstrated experience with creative video editing for social and web platforms

  • Knowledge of video editing software
