Manager of System Spiritual Care, Shift Varies, Spiritual Care

UC Health is hiring a full-time Manager of System Spiritual Care for the Spiritual Care department at West Chester Hospital.

The Manager of Spiritual Care is responsible for program oversight and operations of Pastoral/Spiritual Care Services for UC Health. Directs and ensures the provision of pastoral/spiritual care to patients; additionally supports palliative care, stress de-escalation, emotional sustenance for patient and support systems, and healthcare staff. Develops and manages community relationships with faith-based resources and centers of worship. Participates and acts as a resource to the organization's leadership structure. The System Manager of Spiritual Care reports to the System Director of Clinical Support Services.

  • Minimum Required: Masters of Divinity or Related Degree; Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE preferred) - 4 Units
  • Board Certified Chaplain (BCC) or in the process of achieving certification without disqualifications with a professional chaplaincy preferred. This certification requires a college degree, a master's level theological degree or equivalent, clinical training in chaplaincy, ordination or commissioning for Chaplaincy by a recognized religious group, and appearance before a national certifying commission for assessment of competency.
  • 3 Years Minimum as leader in Spiritual Care service.

  • Ensures the delivery of a complete program of pastoral/spiritual care to patients, their families and support system, and healthcare staff of all traditions for UC Health - 30%.
  • Supervises and facilitates the work of those delivering pastoral/spiritual care, including employees of the institution, volunteers/spiritual care providers, and Eucharistic Ministers of Holy Communion appointed to the Pastoral/Spiritual Care Department by local Roman Catholic Parishes. - 15%
  • Coordinates clergy, pastoral visitors, and volunteers from the religious community. - 5%
  • Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral/spiritual care. Includes staff rounding, Code Lavender Support, and staff engagement - 15%.
  • Provide oversight and advocates for the use and maintenance of the pastoral/spiritual care offices and chapel- 5%.
  • Develops and maintains proper administration procedures for the Department in accordance with institutional policy - 10%.
  • Contributes to the wider community through chaplain resident support, publication, teaching, and research. - 10%
  • Participates in programs, celebrations, and administrative activities of the institution. Considered part of the organization's leadership, with rounding, on-call and goal-setting and evaluation responsibilities - 10%
