Senior Energy Seller-Doer/Project Manager - Northeastern U.S. (Remote/Hybrid) (Finance)



The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is currently expanding our already successful practice. We have immediate opportunities for a Senior Energy Seller-Doer/Project Manager to support growing our energy business in the northeastern U.S., with specific emphasis on growing our energy siting and permitting business. This individual should maintain a network of contacts within the industry and can use our resources in the development, strategic direction, and growth of Tetra Tech's energy initiatives in the northeast and beyond.

From planning and siting to operation and maintenance, Tetra Tech supports our clients in developing renewable and conventional energy projects from concept to completion.

Successful candidates will have a strong technical background in siting, permitting and evaluating environmental impacts of a variety of energy projects. Experience may include all phases of environmental consulting services to support project development and delivery for renewable and conventional energy producers and utility services. Our ideal candidate will have pre-existing client relationships and a proven track record of winning work within the energy market.

Your Role:

The Seller-Doer/Project Manager will be expected to:

  • Develop new client accounts; work with existing Tetra Tech account managers and the Energy Program market leads to expand existing client accounts.
  • Prepare proposals and lead Tetra Tech teams through county, state and federal permit processes.
  • Conduct agency coordination, lead technical teams and contractors providing technical deliverables.
  • Support the permitting of complex projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Have strong critical thinking capabilities and a flexible approach to problem solving.
  • Microsoft Office) and possess the ability to act independently.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree but preferably a graduate degree in environmental sciences, urban/regional planning, environmental policy, environmental studies, and/or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience, with more experience preferred, with account management, business development, environmental assessments and federal, state, and local regulatory compliance/permitting in the US.
  • Must have existing client relationships in the energy market and a proven track record of winning new work.
    • Strong working knowledge of state siting and permitting processes such as Connecticut Siting Council and Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP)
    • Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board
    • Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act and local Conservation Commissions, bylaws and zoning ordinance; Maine Site Location of Development Act (SLODA) and Maine Natural Resources Protection Act (NRPA)
    • New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Land Development related permits including NH Wetlands and Alteration of Terrain, and others northeastern state regulatory agencies
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal communication (oral and written), as the position requires frequent and effective interaction with clients, regulatory agencies, other team members and the public.
  • Function as a team-oriented professional with a strong attention to detail, and a proven commitment to quality management and client satisfaction.
  • Ability to plan and organize in a fast paced, dynamic client driven working environment.
  • Possess excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Work closely and develop strong working relationships with team members located across the US.
  • Strong program and project management skills in successfully scoping and managing project teams and deliverables.
  • Preference for experience in preparing and processing various county, state, and federal land use permits as well as preparation of documents to meet the requirements.
  • Experience with agency coordination, leading technical teams and contractors providing technical deliverables.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Compensation:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Pay Range: $130,000-$190,000 Yearly

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
