Vice President, Enterprise Incident Response Program Lead (Information Technology)

Your Team & Role

The VP, Enterprise Critical Event Response Program Lead is responsible for coordinating with all corporate functions and business units in their preparedness, response, and lessons learned pertaining to all events that present disruption to operations. This role involves developing and implementing enterprise event management strategies and response plans, coordinating and training with various stakeholders across the enterprise, and overseeing the escalation process to address and resolve complex challenges quickly and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience coordinating global executive teams across multiple business units, technical knowledge with experience in cyber and/or physical event management, and the ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day   

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Management: Coordinate response efforts across the enterprise, serving as the primary contact during critical events. Activate and oversee event management protocols, mobilize the Event Coordination Team, monitor event-related matters and facilitate communication with Global Leadership Team.

  • Strategy and Planning: Develop and refine event response plans, ensuring alignment with corporate function and business unit playbooks (standard operating procedures, business continuity plans, etc.) across the enterprise.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Ensure timely and effective communication with stakeholders and executive leadership during critical events, ensuring a smooth execution and flow of information.

  • Program Leadership: Ensure the Enterprise Event Coordination Team is adequately trained and conduct post-event evaluations for continuous improvement. Own the development and execution of critical event table-top exercises to test, train, and continually improve the organization's response capability.  

  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and maintain comprehensive reporting on event management activities.

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of incidents, response actions, and lessons learned. Continuously collect and refine details of dependencies across corporate functions and business units. Ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.

  • Training: Conduct regular training and awareness programs for executive leadership on incident response procedures and best practices.

  • Continuous Improvement: Evaluate and improve incident response processes and tools with process excellence mindset. Stay current with industry trends and emerging threats.

Specific Responsibilities for this Role:

  • Activate Event Response protocols when necessary, mobilize the Event Coordination Team, and track and monitor Event-related matters.

  • Lead the Event Coordination Team in response efforts across all corporate functions and business units.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the Global Leadership Team during enterprise critical events.

  • Ensure decisions, strategy, and information flow effectively during an enterprise event.

  • Validate that corporate functions and business units maintain. adequate Playbooks to support their responsibilities defined in the Response Plans and remediate any gaps in the Playbooks.

  • Brief executive leadership on events that are below the Enterprise Critical Event threshold but have the potential to escalate.

  • Conduct detailed post-Event after action reviews to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement.

  • Regularly review and update the Event Response Framework and Response Plans and incorporate best practices and/or new technologies.

  • Organize and conduct training programs and tabletop exercises for the Event Coordination Team and executive leaders.

The Skills & Expertise You Bring 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree preferred).

  • 7+ years of experience in incident management, crisis management, or related field in a large global enterprise, preferably a financial institution.

  • 4+ years of experience with IT systems, infrastructure, and operations.

  • 4+ years of experience with incident management tools and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, NIST).

  • 7+ years of leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage executive leadership of the company, manage stakeholder expectations and coordinate across multiple global teams.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities with a “calm hand” while exhibiting “command and control.”

  • Certifications in incident management or demonstrated experience in emergency response, ideally in cyber and physical contexts (ITIL, CISSP a plus).

  • Experience in a similar role within a large, complex organization (financial services a plus).

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the industry.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time position with occasional on-call availability for enterprise events.

  • May require travel or extended hours during enterprise events.

What we offer you:

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $213,000.00 to $288,200.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
