POSITION-PURPOSE
Rice Companies is seeking their next Vice President or Director of Human Resources to provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all aspects of HR across the organization. This role is responsible for cultivating a workplace culture aligned with RCI's core values while advancing the company's people strategies in the areas of talent acquisition, development, engagement, and retention. This is a senior level position that partners closely with company leaders to support a growing, multi-location construction business and help shape the future of our workforce.Key Accountabilities include:

Lead development and implementation of best practices for Talent Acquisition, Employee Development, Coaching, Retention, Recognition, and Engagement.
Oversee and refine performance management strategies, including goal setting, reviews, coaching, and succession planning.
Foster company culture by modeling and promoting values-driven leadership and a "best place to work" environment.
Design and execute impactful training and development programs to support career growth and organizational capability.
Conduct competitive market analysis to evaluate and recommend changes in benefits, pay structures, and total rewards.
Administer and help define the employee benefits plan, ensuring compliance, competitiveness, and employee value.
Support internal communications, policy development, and organizational change management across departments and locations.
Partner with leadership to assess and evolve the organizational structure, ensuring alignment with strategic growth and accountability.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulatory requirements.
Manage the HR budget and optimize HR systems and tools to support scalable processes.
Serve as a trusted coach and advisor to team members and leaders at all levels.

Successful candidates will possess:

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master's or SHRM-CP/SCP a plus)
Director level candidates will possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive, broad-based HR experience; VP level candidates will possess a minimum of 10 years of experience with a minimum of 5 years' leading an HR team within a multi-site/multi-state organization.
Construction industry experience preferred
Proven success in leading organizational change, employee engagement, and talent strategy
Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with a collaborative, people-first mindset
Ability to influence, advise, and partner across all levels of the organization
Demonstrated agility in managing competing priorities and supporting evolving business needs
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS and talent management platforms
