Senior Accountant (Finance)



RINA is currently recruiting for a Senior Accountant to join its office in Lisle or Chicago, IL or Houston, TX within the Regional Finance Management Division.

Compensation Data

Compensation Range: $80,000 - $90,000

Mission

The Senior Accountant will play an important role in reconciling and analyzing general ledger activity of our company's financial operations. With a focus on accuracy, efficiency and process improvement, the Senior Accountant contributes to the overall financial integrity of the organization. This position involves ensuring compliance with accounting principles through financial analysis, supporting budget processes and collaborating with various teams to enhance financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Key Accountabilities

Involved in day-to-day accounting activities, including ledger maintenance and keeping supporting schedules current, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

  • Lead the reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare, balance and post journal entries for timely updates to general ledger.
  • Investigate intercompany transactions and ensure compliance and thorough documentation.
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions with other companies within the group and resolve differences in a timely manner.
  • Assist with a timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
  • Assist in various audits to include annual fiscal and overhead cost audit.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial initiatives and provide analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, company policies and relevant regulations.
  • Support with other financial analysis and ad hoc reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Experience with ERP and multi-system software such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Deltek Vantagepoint or similar platforms.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
